Aquamation (water cremation)

A gentler
way to come home.

Aquamation uses warm water and an alkaline solution instead of flame. It offers a gentle alternative to traditional cremation, while allowing us to care for your pet with the same intention and dignity from the moment they come into our care until we bring their ashes home.

Why aquamation

What makes
aquamation different.

When it’s your pet, the details matter. You want to know what happens, who is looking after them, and how they’ll come home. We’ll talk it through with you, including the things you might find hard to ask.

  • Water, warmth and time.

Aquamation uses warm water and an alkaline solution instead of flame. For some families, that feels like the right choice for their pet.

  • You know who is caring for them.

Before we arrive, you have your pet’s confirmation tag number and know what we have arranged. You can come to us with questions, from that first conversation until they are home again.

  • Ashes to keep close.

Your pet’s ashes can be kept in an urn, placed in a keepsake, or scattered in a meaningful place. You can bring them home first and decide about those things in your own time.

Their identity stays with them.

When we schedule care, we give you your pet’s confirmation tag number and send a copy to your veterinarian. Their physical tag stays with them through aquamation and comes home with their ashes.

We document each step. If you would like us to explain how we keep track of your pet’s care, please ask.

You’ll have your pet’s confirmation number before anyone arrives.

Each pet rests in their own separate compartment. Other pets may be cared for in the same system during a cycle.

Personal home return, included

We bring their ashes home.
Personally.

When your pet is ready to come home, we bring their ashes to you ourselves.

This is part of their care, and it’s included. We arrange a time with you beforehand, so you know when to expect us.

Something to keep them close.

Your choice of an embossed scatter tube or wooden box, a furoshiki cloth, and an ink paw or nose print whenever possible are included. A decorative urn or another keepsake is optional, and you can take time to decide.

A personal reason
From our founder

“I know what it feels like to walk back into a clinic to collect the ashes of a pet you loved, while life carries on around you like nothing happened. I never forgot how lonely that was. That is why, when your pet is ready to come home, we bring them to you ourselves.”

A personal choice

Your questions,
welcomed.

Some families find comfort in a process that uses water and no flame. Others value having ashes they can keep or scatter.

You do not need to feel a particular way about it. We are here to explain the care and answer your questions.
